Under the neon glow of the transforming 1960s, Jaguar Cars became the brand everyone watched: sleek, daring, and irresistibly ahead of its time.
The company had earned global admiration through its Le Mans victories of the previous decade, yet it was equally determined to translate racing pedigree into road-going elegance.
When it first appeared, the Jaguar E-Type stunned the world with a blend of beauty, speed, and innovation that felt almost unreal.
Enzo Ferrari himself reportedly called it the most beautiful car ever made, a sentiment echoed by enthusiasts who were captivated by its sculpted lines, monocoque construction, and remarkable performance for the era.
Production of the E-Type Series I 4.2 ran from 1964 to 1968, with approximately 7,700 units built, a remarkable figure for its era, yet modest enough that surviving examples in well-preserved condition have become increasingly rare.
Within this production span, the 1965 models stand out as particularly sought after: early enough to embody the untouched purity of the original Series I design, yet refined by the mechanical upgrades that defined the 4.2 evolution.
Today, a genuine 1965 E-Type 4.2 is considered a rare prize, an icon whose limited numbers, enduring beauty, and unmistakable character make it one of the most treasured classic Jaguars ever produced.
ABOUT THIS SPECIFIC EXAMPLE
This 1965 Jaguar E-Type Series I 4.2 Fixed Head Coupè began life in a classic Carmen Red, a striking color at the time but no longer the most coveted choice among collectors today.
Dispatched on May 18, 1965 through Jaguar Cars New York, it was first owned by Gary George and George E. Geider of Torrance, California.
Over time, this exceptional E-Type has undergone a tasteful transformation that has only increased its allure.
The exterior has been reimagined in deep, glossy black, creating a look of pure elegance and presence, while the interior is now vibrant red leather, producing a stunning sporty contrast that emphasizes the car’s dynamic lines and aggressive stance.
Over the years, this remarkable E-Type passed through several notable custodians. Around 2005, it was part of the renowned Joe’s Garage collection in Sweden, further cementing its status as a desirable and well-maintained classic.
The car holds its Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate, which confirms its original factory specifications and provenance.
The historical file includes around 80 photographs, meticulously documenting the careful and thorough restoration that this car has undergone, capturing details of its transformation and preservation.
From the historical file, we have determined that the car underwent a careful restoration in Sweden and was registered there approximately between 2003 and 2016.
During this period, it was owned by Mr. Tegin from Frövi, located in the Örebro County region.
IIn 2021, the car was acquired by one of our distinguished clients in the Netherlands.
Not long after, we purchased it from him. However, he soon regretted and decided to reacquire it, keeping it in his collection for several years.
In December 2025, after buying and selling other rare classic cars to further elevate his collection, he chose to return this exceptional car to us.
