The Aston Martin DB6 represents the ultimate expression of British grand touring in the 1960s – elegant, refined, and unmistakably classic. Produced in March 1967, this DB6 Coupé was assembled at Newport Pagnell and delivered with its original 3.995-litre inline-six engine paired with a manual gearbox, offering 282 hp and a top speed of around 240 km/h.
Chassis number DB6/3030/R and engine number 400/3051 confirm that this car retains its matching numbers, a highly sought-after feature for collectors. Originally finished in… Pacific Blue with a Light Tan leather interior, the coupé combines subtle elegance with the graceful fastback Kamm-tail design that defines the DB6. Originally delivered as a right-hand drive car, it has since been converted to left-hand drive (LHD) to suit continental European use.
This exemplar boasts a meticulously documented history, supported by Aston Martin Works invoices and records from Classic & Sports Cars (France). Between 2017 and 2022, it underwent an extensive restoration and service program, including a top-end engine rebuild, carburetor and ignition system replacements, complete electrical work, and the professional installation of a new ZF gearbox, rebuilt in Schweinfurt, Germany, to factory standards.
Today, the DB6 presents in excellent mechanical and cosmetic condition, with approximately 115,000 km on the odometer. Its original color combination highlights the model’s elegant lines, and the interior retains a natural patina that speaks to the authenticity of this classic British GT.
Produced in just 1,327 examples, the DB6 represents the final evolution of the “David Brown” era, bridging classic design with improved comfort and handling. Features such as the extended wheelbase, power-assisted steering, and refined suspension make it both a pleasure to drive and a true collector’s icon.
