A one off initiated by VKV group and build by Race Service Simonis. The goal was to build a light weight road legal Megane lll RS that was able to compete on track with supercars. The result was lap time of 1:56 on the Dutch Formula 1circuit of Zandvoort. The final achieved weight saving was 275 Kg.
N4 monocoque: The by Renaultsport supplied N4 monocoque is strengthened and stiffened to bring both active and passive safety close to perfection. The bodyshell… is completely spot welded and is fitted with a welded roll cage, which is compliant with FIA regulations and has been validated by static load calculations.
Carbon items: hood, trunk, roof, door panels inside and out, seats, dash, trunk floor and all underside protection.
Trunk lid window: made of polycarbonate
Suspension: Intrax that is adjustable in height and damping. It is modular and, apart from the piston rod, entirely composed of high-quality anodized aluminum. The 1K2 damper is fitted with an internal thermostat. The thermostat keeps the damping constant at varying temperatures. This means the damping and driving behavior remain exactly the same at various operating and ambient temperatures. 30% weight saving compared with original set up.
Brakes: floating brake disc and additional brake cooling at the front.
Battery: lithium ion
Wheels: leightweight OZ racing with new fitted 235-40-18 Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires (total weight saving 24Kg)
Engine: upgraded to 320 Hp and 480 Nm
